You Can’t Hear From There
Exodus 20:18-21 & Exodus 3:1-5
With all the noise and commotion we have going on in our heads and in our environments, discerning God’s voice can be difficult at time. Shhh is a series where we learn to hear God’s voice above the noise of life.
Highlights from this message:
● Everyone has capability but everyone must develop the ability to discern God’s voice
● We must get in position and stay in position (a posture of holiness)
● We must fight the urge to become satisfied with second hand information (like the children of Israel did)
● We must resist the urge to get out of position because we don’t like what God has to say
You Have A Bright Future – Jeremiah 29:11-18
Do you sometimes wonder if there is any hope?
You can feel hopeless in your marriage, financial situation, or even physical body.
Sometimes we may feel as if we see a sign before us that says road closed. God reminds us that it is just a detour and we should remain confident that he has a plan for us. When days seem dark and the plan seems delayed, we should do the following while waiting on God:
1. Help others achieve what they desire
2. God has a plan for each and every one of us so who ought to consult God
3. When the pressures of life increase, lean on Jesus because he is our rock.
Recapturing Margin In Your Finances – I Timothy 6:3-10
The key to recapturing margin in our finances is contentment. Contentment is not having all you want but wanting all you have.
Remember:
* Godliness is a mean of great gain if accompanied by contentment (vs 5-6)
* Prioritize godliness over selfish gain (vs 6)
* Focus on the eternal and not on the temporal (vs 7)
* Assess what you are pursuing by asking questions:
1) What fills my thoughts?
2) How am I spending my money?
3) Who do I admire the most?
Recapturing Your Time Margin – James 4:12-17

There are 86,400 seconds per day. Will we invest them or waste them? Read more…
How To Remain One – Romans 14:1-23
Dr. John Morgan preached a great word about maintaining unity when people have a different disputable practice than you.
Disputable practices are areas or topics that the Bible does not specifically address, like the length of a person’s hair. We should use 10 principles as our guide:
1. Thou shall not resent your brother who does not have freedom
2. Thou shall not resent your brother who does have freedom
3. Thou shall not doubt it and do it
4. Thou shall live to honor Christ
5. Thou shall not hurt your brother
6. Thou shall not destroy your brother
7. Thou shall not cause a scandal
8. Thou shall create peace and mutual growth
9. Thou shall not be a blabber mouth about what you believe concerning disputable practices
10. Thou shall always act in good conscious
Recapturing Your Emotional Margin
Matthew 11:28-30; Psalm 23:1-3
Sunday, we began our new series, “Margin.” It is the space between your limit and your load. Without margin, we neglect the most important things in our lives, which means we need it. Read more…
In Search of Pleasure Island – I John 2:14-17

The Sign of Jonah – Matt 12:38-42
Over the course of the last few weeks in our Jonah series, we’ve learned:
1)You can run but you cannot outrun God
2) God is generous in his grace, even though he is thorough in his discipline
3) Failure is not final
4) God’s circle of grace is for everyone not a select few.
Sunday’s concluding message to our Running series was completed with “The Sign of Jonah” (Matt 12:38-42).

Running Ahead of God – Jonah 4:1-11
Running.
We all do it.
This series challenges us to see how we are running. In chapter 4, Jonah’s emotions raged when his desires did not match God’s actions.
Like Jonah, we often prioritize our comfort over God’s purposes.
Here are some highlights from this week’s message:
Running With God – Jonah 3:1-10
Running. We all do it. This series challenges us to see how we are running. In the first two messages, we learned about running away from God and running to God. As we focus on running with God this week, we should consider Jonah’s response, Nineveh’s response, and God’s relenting.
